Brian Coyle Center
Brian Coyle Center is located in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, one of the most densely populated areas in the state, with approximately 1,800 apartment units on two city blocks. The Brian Coyle Center brings people together by promoting social and economic equality for the residents of the Cedar Riverside community. They do this through programming that builds strength and the entrepreneurial spirit in all ages and families and, through learning, creates connections that helps the community thrive. The center is named after the late Brian J. Coyle, former vice president of the Minneapolis City Council, and dedicated activist for tenants’ rights and economic justice throughout his career. In addition to the programs run by Pillsbury United Communities, the Center also houses other organizations, including the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota, Emerge Community Development, and Pan African Legal Aid. Brian Coyle Center also offers six multi-purpose meeting rooms, an institutional-size kitchen, a food shelf, a coffee cart, and a gymnasium that was recently renovated!
