The Triple Rock Social Club: Punk Rock with a Side of Tots
One of my favorite past times is going to live shows and one of my favorite spots has always been The Triple Rock Social Club. For many music lovers, like myself, Triple Rock was and continues to be an integral part of the Minneapolis music scene boasting a healthy line up of local and national acts. But besides being a fantastic music venue, it’s also a great place to just grab a drink. With its exposed brick, church pew style booths, and plentiful graffiti, the unpretentious atmosphere makes this a popular watering hole with plenty of character.
If live music isn’t your thing, Triple Rock offers a full menu of hearty, no-frills bar food to go with your libations. With daily happy hour deals on food and drinks, vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters will find plenty to choose from (did someone say po-boys and tots?). While their regular menu is delicious, my personal preference is their weekend brunch. From the mismatched mugs a la grandma’s cupboard, to kick-butt bloody Mary’s, and a jukebox blasting plenty of punk music, this is the perfect spot to start the morning (or afternoon, depending on how hard you partied the night before). The Rock Star Egg in a Hole is still one of my all-time favorites. Toasted bread with a star-shaped hole filled with a fried egg, served with a pile of potatoes, and I always get a side of the best nacho cheese (that just happens to be vegan) ever made. It’s so good that even my carnivorous friends drench their breakfast burritos in it. It’s that good.
So the next time you’re feeling thirsty, hungry, and in need of good music, head on over to the Triple Rock Social Club.
