Façade Grants

The West Bank Business Association is proud to partner with the City of Minneapolis in administering their façade improvement program on the West Bank. As money becomes available, eligible businesses can apply for matching grants for façade improvements. This program matches business investment in an improvement with city dollars. Most businesses in the district are “cultural district areas” with a 2/3 match, but some are “priority” with a 50/50 match. You can look up whether your property is “cultural district area” or “priority” here. The program provides matching dollars to storefront improvements on commercial property. City of Minneapolis Facade Grant applications for West Bank projects should be submitted to WBBA. Applications will be reviewed and accepted on a modified first-come, first-served basis prioritizing small independent businesses. To apply, complete the application linked below, provide “before” photos of the proposed project, and submit a copy of the bid or proposal from the contractor. If the project costs more than $5,000, you will need to submit two bids.
